The DSM IV
Formed by Guy McKnight of cult favourites The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster, The DSM IV are one of the most electrifying live bands of the moment, having supported both Sleaford Mods and The Libertines across Europe, which offered them a chance to hone their craft, spread their wings and bring their mesmeric performances to audiences.
Seamlessly bringing together stories, beats, guitars and noise in an inspiring collection of kaleidoscopic reflections about right & wrong, dark & light, joy & pain, sin & shame – at once sobering and dream filled, their tunes bear witness to how our collective minds eyes are being projected upon by the mass media, as they portray a frightening world to scare and divide us, while entertainment industries that capitalise on our morbid curiosities by indulging and fetishising our obsession with violence and death, romanticising depravity to the point of near canonisation, as well as social media’s ever encroaching presence which continues to influence our relationships with ourselves and others, and our desire for adoration.
Their own unique and inimitable cocktail of visceral music – electro beats, poetic rock n roll guitars, uncompromising storytelling and performance - woven into new anthems for those who love the real thing. If New Order, Pulp, Nick Cave and David Cronenberg formed a band whilst on Ecstasy at a Primal Scream show!
