Death Valley Girls
"Tripped out, flipped out garage rock with psychedelic undertones on the one hand, upbeat synth dance melodies on the other, AND a bit of everything in between; Death Valley Girls have got it all." - NARC Magazine.
"Death Valley Girls are challenging themselves to commune with him in the metaphysical one, by channelling the animalistic abandon and sax-blasted ferocity of the Stooges at their Fun House freakiest. Under the Spell of Joy is not a soundtrack for eating cheeseburgers—it’s music for barfing up the poison in your soul." - Pitchfork.
"Their riffs move between two chords, occasionally three; Bloomgarden's vocals are filtered through the same overdrive as the guitars, the drums, the whole mix; hooks are there to dig into you like tics." - VICE
