Boss New Plays

Boss New Plays

Liverpool's Lantern Writers have been working steadily with the best of the city's acting talent in recent years, providing an opportunity for new theatre voices to be heard on the Merseyside stage.

Expect two very different nights of theatre, with a different programme at each performance. There will be drama, laughs and perhaps smidgen of tragedy.

Whatever shows you see, the common thread they share is coming from the mind of a local playwright who wants to entertain you.

Friday 19th April

Love Target by Mark Davoren.

Cupid is shooting wildly off target when a blind date crosses a planned euthanasia; will love strike second time round?

Scousepeare In Love by Darren Anglesea.

Billy fancies Julie but her eyes are set on stardom; will a corrupt London luvvie dash their dreams or will all's well that ends well?

Tim Visits Liverpool by Danny Wright.

Time changes us all, and all things must end.

Pedalo To Paris by Donna Golding.

Four mature women juggling life, family and work, put all on hold to represent the UK at a new Olympic event. Will they get to France?

Saturday 20th April.

Eat, Sleep, Repeat by Brian Mutton.

Ted, Jessy and Grace are embroiled in a bizarre love triangle; join us on this comedic roller coaster of love, loss and laughter with inevitable twists and turns.

War Games by Stella Young.

A mother and her young daughter leave their war-torn country in search of a new and safer life.

Bobby Franks by Paula Frew.

In an affluent suburb of 1920's Chicago, University students, Richard and Nathan plan the perfect murder… because they can!

The Liver Birds by Joe Lewis.
