Arrested Development
The American Hip Hop group Arrested Development were at the forefront of the popularisation of Southern Hip Hop. In stark contrast to the gangsta rap that ruled the Hip Hop charts in 1992, they focused on spirituality, peace and love.
Their debut album charted at #3 in the UK Charts, and #7 in the Billboard 200 spawning singles 'People Everyday', 'Mr.Wendal' and 'Tennessee', with the latter part of the The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll list.
