Gwen Dickey - The Voice of Rose Royce
Best known as the front-woman of the R&B band Rose Royce, where she performed under the name Rose Norwalt, the Mississippi-born British-based disco diva was the voice that shined brightly on the international hits 'Car Wash', 'Wishing On A Star', 'Love Don't Live Here Anymore', 'I Wanna Get Next To You', 'Is It Love You're After' and many more.
In 1976, her lead vocals on the Billboard Hot 100 number-one single "Car Wash" brought Dickey and the band immediate international fame. She left the band in 1980 and moved to the UK.
