After learning about the suicide of a patient (Virginie Efira), psychoanalyst Lilian Steiner (Jodie Foster) suspects foul play and decides to uncover the truth. Enlisting the help of her ex-husband-cum-sleuthing partner (Daniel Auteuil), her investigation leads her to unexpected conclusions.
