A? legendary British music?figure - Officially recognised for his 8 Decades in Music as a hit recording artist and songwriter.
It was Marty who suggested to his then manager, Larry Parnes, to listen to a young singer songwriter from Dingle, Liverpool, one Ronald Wycherley, Parnes was impressed and put him on stage at the Essoldo in Birkinhead that very night in October 1959 as Billy Fury.
Marty and Billy became lifelong friends.

Marty Wilde began his career in 1957 ? he had his first UK chart hit ?Endless Sleep? (1958) and was one of the first British singers to play a leading part in the early formative and groundbreaking ?Rock?n?roll? years?.
Today he celebrates 8 Decades as a hit recording artist and songwriter (he penned hits for his daughter Kim Wilde, Status Quo, Tom Jones, Hot Chocolate, The Casuals, Lulu and others)
With his own many hits, including ?Teenager In Love?, ?Endless Sleep?,? Donna?,? Sea Of Love?, ?Bad Boy?, ?Rubber Ball?, ?Jezebel? and others, plus a host of hit songs from a golden era ?
