Daughters of Albion: O'Hooley & Tidow Frankie Archer and Hannah Scott

Much loved Yorkshire folk duo Belinda O'Hooley and Heidi Tidow’s boundless songwriting has been described by The Guardian as ‘exceptional’ and The Independent as ‘defiant, robust, northern, poetical, political folk music for the times we live in’. From an emotionally charged song about an elephant orphanage in Nairobi, to a joyous celebration of the Leeds cycling champion Beryl Burton, they explore, consider and connect subjects and stories in a distinctive, inventive and memorable way.
Frankie Archer has exploded onto the electrofolk scene with music that transcends stereotypes, genres and tradition, using samples, synths, drum tracks and earthy Northumbrian fiddle and voice to capture her audience. She’s featured on Later… With Jools Holland, BBC Radio 2 and 6Music, supported The Last Dinner Party, and with her unique live set turning heads wherever she goes, Frankie is quickly establishing herself as one to watch in the alternative space.
With tracks that are powerful, poignant and personal, Hannah Scott is a consummate storyteller. Her music is shaped by human stories, with family in all its chaos and glory sitting at the heart of her work. She’s recorded a BBC Radio 2 live session, opened for Madeleine Peyroux, and shared the stage with folk luminaries such as Seth Lakeman, Cara Dillon and Fairport Convention. She’s performed at major folk festivals but thrives on the intimacy of performing in smaller spaces and connecting with her audience.
