Interpol
Manhattan, New York, rockers Interpol formed in 1997, and quickly became one of the main bands associated with the New York indie music scene, and one of several groups that emerged from the post-punk revival of the 2000s.
The band's sound is generally a mix of staccato bass and rhythmic, harmonised guitar with a snare-heavy mix, drawing comparisons to post-punk Manchester bands such as Joy Division and the Chameleons, and also to Television, Echo & the Bunnymen and Siouxsie and the Banshees.
Enjoying great commercial success with their albums, they have also scored UK Top 40 hits with "Evil", "C'mere" and "The Heinrich Maneuver".
