Edinburgh Fringe Comedy Previews

A series of comedy double bill previewing at Storyhouse ahead of Edinburgh Fringe.
Saturday 1 April – Luke Kempner and Annie Mcgrath
Luke Kempner
Luke Kempner has quickly established himself as the UK's hottest new impressionist for the millennial comedy generation with his contemporary take on pop culture mimicry, amassing over 10 million views online. Luke is part of the Spitting Image cast, which can be seen on BritBox and can be recognised from Steph's Packed Lunch (Channel 4) where he is a regular contributor/presenter.
Annie Mcgrath
Annie McGrath is a comedian renowned for her joke writing skills and deadpan style. A regular at the Edinburgh Fringe, Annie's latest solo show, Shepherd, received five star reviews and led to a Soho Theatre run. She has supported Lou Sanders on tour, and appeared on the latest series of BBC Wales' Live From Barry Island.
Thursday 4 May – Sara Barron and Josh Weller
Sara Barron
Sara Barron is one of the fastest-rising comedians of her generation. Since her 2018 debut at the Edinburgh Fringe, she's starred on shows including Live at the Apollo (BBC), Would I Lie to You? (BBC) and Frankie Boyle's New World Order (BBC).
A powerhouse live act, Sara has taken 3 critically acclaimed stand-up hours, For Worse (2018), Enemies Closer (2019), and Hard Feelings (2022) to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and had multiple runs in London's Soho Theatre. Her shows have received rave reviews from publications including The Times, The Guardian, The Independent, The Evening Standard and The Scotsman, and she was nominated for Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards.
Josh Weller
Recently hand picked by Fred Armisen to be his opener, Josh Weller is a failed musician turned comedian, viral content maker, comic book author and podcast host. He was born in England, raised in Malaysia and now lives in London.
His musical parody videos also have views in the millions on TikTok and Instagram.
Saturday 27 May – Huge Davies and Jonny Pelham
Huge Davies
Combining his confident on stage presence, dark humour, surreal material and his one-of-kind customised keyboard, Huge has quickly risen to become one the most unique acts in the UK.
Jonny Pelham
Jonny Pelham is one of the most exciting stand-up comedians in the UK.
He's appeared on shows such as; Live at the Apollo, Mock The Week, Alan Davies As Yet Untitled, Russell Howard's Stand-up Central, Live from the BBC and Bobby and Harriet Get Married.
He's written and starred in his own scripted comedy projects; Late Bloomer, for Sky Comedy Short Season and Brad Boys for Channel Four Comedy Blaps, as well as working as a script consultant for BAFTA wining sitcom, Almas Not Normal.
Saturday 1 July – Matt Forde and Eleanor Tiernan
Matt Forde
Matt is one of the country's most in-demand satirists having hosted the Alternative News Desk for Channel 4's election night coverage, chaired the One Nation Conservative leadership hustings and debated Britain's withdrawal from the EU with Tony Blair for the Institute of Global Change.
Eleanor Tiernan
Comedian and writer Eleanor Tiernan has featured on Stand Up For Live Comedy (BBC3), Comedy Central's The Alternative Comedy Experience and she has supported acts including Iliza Shlesinger, Stewart Lee, Tig Notaro, Ardal O'Hanlon, Jason Manford, Jason Byrne and Reginald D. Hunter. She has been a panellist on BBC Radio 4's News Quiz and Where's the F In News? and The Blame Game (BBC Northern Ireland). most recently Eleanor appears in Holding, a new TV adaptation of Graham Norton's debut novel.
